Soul & Fur began with a very simple problem:

I wanted beautiful photographs of my dogs: Bailey & Roxxie.

And finding someone who understood both animals and photography turned out to be much harder than it should have been.

Animal photography isn't simply about pointing a camera at a cute face. It takes patience, observation, an understanding of behaviour and the ability to let an animal show you who they are.

That's where I come in.

I'm Heather, an animal lover, photographer and lifelong observer of the creatures we share our lives with.

I work with animals on their terms outdoors, in comfortable environments and without forcing them into something they're not.

Because the photographs worth keeping are the ones that feel unmistakably like them.

Their ridiculous personality.
Their favourite place.
The way they look at you.
The things you'll miss most one day.

That's what Soul & Fur is about.
